What is the Ladder Season?

In Ladder Seasons, players start fresh, creating a new character to take on the challenges of Diablo 2's world. Unlike non-ladder play, where you keep your progress from past games, Ladder mode is all about starting from scratch and competing against others to reach level 99 and unlock special rewards.

 

In Season 9, there will be different game modes to suit your playstyle:

1.Pre-Expansion Ladder: This mode covers only the original four acts of Diablo 2, before the Lord of Destruction expansion.

2.Pre-Expansion Hardcore Ladder: Similar to the Pre-Expansion Ladder, but in this mode, death is permanent – so be extra cautious!

3.Ladder: This mode includes all five acts, including the content from the Lord of Destruction expansion.

What Happens After the Season Ends?

Once Ladder Season 9 ends, your Ladder characters will be transferred to then on-ladder group, meaning they won't be seasonal anymore. Any items left in your Shared Stash from Ladder Season 8 will be moved to a With-draw Only tab, where you can access them until the start of Ladder Season 9. After that, these items will be deleted.

 

Tip: If you want to keep anything from Season 8, make sure to move it to your inventory before Season 9 begins! Don't wait too long, or you might lose them for good.
