1. What Is Armourer’s Scrap?

In Path of Exile 2, Armourer's Scrap is an item used to improve the quality of armours. Each 1% of Armourer's Scrap can increase 1% defense (including armour, evasion, and energy shield) of the armour. When you use Armourer's Scrap on an armour, you can improve the armour's quality, with the maximum improvement up to 20. Then, you'll see a small label with a hammer icon pop up. You need to click the hammer icon, and then click the quality gears in your inventory to scrap it. In this way, you can turn the armour into Armourer's Scrap.

 

3. What Is the Salvage Bench?

The Salvage Bench serves as an essential in-game utility for equipment modification. You'll first encounter it during the introductory questline, and later can place one in your personal Hideout. To gain access to this feature, complete the Act 1 mission titled Finding the Forge, during which you’ll be asked to find Renly's Tools. This task requires locating Renly's lost smithing tools in Ogham village. If you arrive in Ogham village without triggering the quest, return to Clearfell Encampment and converse with Renly to initiate it.

Since game maps are randomly generated, the exact location of Salvage Bench may vary. However, it's typically found near Renly's Workshop. The mission's recommended combat level is 13, so ensure your character is adequately equipped before attempting it. Progression strategies include temporarily switching to defensive gear or focusing on area-of-effect skills to manage the encounter efficiently.

 

4. Where to Find Gears for Scraping Armourer’s Scrap?

As mentioned above, not all items can be used to get Armourer's Scrap. The items that can be used must be quality gears. The quality is usually shown below the type in the item description. You can move your mouse over the item in your inventory to view the details.

So where can you get these items? On your way to leveling up, all the mobs you defeat may drop suitable items for converting into Armourer's Scrap. You just need to keep some of the items properly. Meanwhile, every time you level up, the vendor's stock will refresh with quality gears. After each level-up, you can head to different towns for vendors, then filter items by the keyword "quality" to snap up all available gears. After coming to the endgame, collecting such items becomes even easier because you can flexibly use various bonuses in the Atlas to increase the probability of getting these items. 5. How to Use Armourer’s Scrap?

Right click on the Armourer's Scrap in your inventory, and then left click on an armour to apply it.

If you can't use Armourer's Scrap, the most common reason is that your armour has reached the quality cap. This means you don't need to use Armourer's Scrap anymore. You can use other items to continue improving your gear, such as using Orb of Alchemy and Orb of Chance to upgrade the item's rarity, or using Exalted Orb and Orb of Augmentation to add new affixes to the item.
