WoW players feel that Mimiron's Head, along with Invincible, is one of the most popular mounts among WoW WotLK's classic mounts. Aside from its stunning appearance, this is one of the few mounts in the game that increases flight speed by 310% instead of the usual 280%. The mount has a unique model and unique animations that make it easy for anyone using it to stand out.

 

Getting Mimiron's head in Wrath of the Lich King Classic is rather cumbersome, similar to the timeless Proto-drake. This mount is designed to reward players who can overcome Ulduar's most difficult challenges. In other words, mounts are (in general) reserved for hardcore raiders.

 

How to get Mimiron's head

 

Despite what its name might suggest, Mimiron's head doesn't actually drop from Mimiron. Instead, popular mounts are dropped from Yogg-Saron, the final boss of Ulduar. Unfortunately, just killing the boss isn't enough. For Yogg-Saron to drop his mount, some very specific conditions need to be met before engaging the boss.

 

This mount is linked to the Lonely in the Dark (25 players) achievement, which requires the player to defeat Yogg-Saron without the aid of four Guardians. Namely Hodir, Thorim, Freya and Mimiron. While this may sound easy to the uninitiated, any veteran WoW player will tell you that it's almost impossible to achieve unless you're running the team with a really good team.

 

To make things even more challenging, only 25-player raids count towards achievements and mounts. Like every raid, the 25-player Ulduar is much more difficult than the 10-player version. On the plus side, Mimiron's head has a 100% drop chance, so if you manage to defeat Yogg-Saron without the help of a guardian, you'll definitely get the mount.

 

Avid mount collectors should also know that Solitude in the Dark counts towards the Ulduar Raider Glory (25-player) meta-achievement. Unlocking Glory of the Ulduar Raider will automatically reward you with the Ironbound Proto-Drake mount.
