In Path of Exile 2, the Hideout is an essential feature that enhances your endgame experience. It acts as a personal hub where you can rest, organize loot, craft gear, and plan your journey through the vast Atlas of Worlds. This guide will walk you through everything you need to know about unlocking, changing, and customizing your Hideout.  

 

 

What Is a Hideout?  

A Hideout is your personal sanctuary in Path of Exile 2. Think of it as a customizable town that provides access to crafting stations, merchants, and other valuable resources. Instead of frequently traveling back to towns during intense endgame mapping, your Hideout serves as a convenient base to sort loot, upgrade equipment, and prepare for the next challenge.  

 

Not only is it functional, but you can also decorate and customize your Hideout to match your style, making it a unique and personal space.  

 

How to Unlock Your Hideout  

Unlocking a Hideout is simple and happens naturally as you progress into the endgame. After completing the main questline, you'll gain access to the Atlas of Worlds during the "Legacy of the Vaal" quest. At this stage, Doryani will guide you to explore the Atlas and its numerous nodes.  

 

Then, you need to find a hideout node. Hideout locations are special nodes on the Atlas, marked with a light blue flower icon. These nodes are scattered across the map and are relatively easy to identify.  

 

Once you select a Hideout node, you'll be transported to the area. Defeat all enemies in the zone to claim it as your Hideout.  

 

After unlocking your Hideout, you can access it by typing `/hideout` in the chat or selecting it from the fast travel menu.  

 

How to Change Your Hideout  

As you progress through the Atlas, you'll unlock different types of Hideouts. Currently, there are four unique designs to choose from:  

 

Felled Hideout  

Limestone Hideout  

Canal Hideout  

Shrine Hideout  

 

To change your Hideout, first of all, you have to unlock a New Hideout. Explore and complete other Hideout nodes on the Atlas to unlock additional designs.  

 

After you unlock a new Hideout, you'll be able to change to it by talking to Alva. In your current Hideout, talk to the NPC Alva and select the “Choose Hideout” option. You can then switch to any Hideout you've unlocked.  

 

How to Customize Your Hideout  

Customizing your Hideout is one of the most thrilling aspects of the game. It allows you to personalize your space to reflect your unique style or optimize it for gameplay efficiency.

 

To begin customizing, enter your Hideout and locate the Edit button near your skill bar. Clicking this will open up a range of customization options. You can freely drag and drop NPCs, crafting benches, and various decorations to arrange your Hideout to your liking. For precise placement, you have the option to rotate or flip objects. The Decorations Tab is where you can add new items to further personalize your space. As you progress, you'll unlock additional decorative items as rewards or through gameplay achievements.

 

You have the flexibility to save your favorite layouts for future use, allowing you to easily switch styles whenever you desire. If you ever want to reset your Hideout to its original state, simply select "Reclaim All".

 

For optimal efficiency during intense mapping sessions, consider placing essential NPCs such as Doryani (for item identification), Ketzuli (for disenchanting), and Alva (for currency exchange) near the map device and stash. This strategic setup will minimize the time spent moving between stations.

 

The Hideout is more than just a decoration. It plays a key role in the Atlas of Worlds progression, offering convenience, efficiency, and creativity. Unlocking and customizing your Hideout not only enhances your gameplay experience but also gives you a personal space to call your own in the ever-challenging world of Wraeclast.
