How to Defeat Doryani – Boss Guide for Path of Exile 2

Where to Find Doryani

Doryani can be found in the Black Chambers, the Testing Pit area. However, before reaching this location, you need to first defeat Viper Napuatzi in Utzaal, which will unlock Aggorat, granting you access to the Black Chambers.

 

Once in the Black Chambers, you will notice bridges rising from the water. Walk across these bridges to enter the arena where you will face Doryani. Alternatively, you can take other routes to defeat more enemies, accumulate experience points and valuable POE 2 Currency. Additionally, using the Sacrificial Heart and Sacrificial Altar will grant you extra passive skill points, providing a solid foundation for the battle.

 

Pre-Battle Preparation

Doryani has two phases. In the first phase, he appears as Royal Thaumaturge Doryani, and once his health reaches 50%, he will enter the second phase as Doryani's Triumph, transforming into a powerful mechanical form and dealing more aggressive attacks.

 

Before entering the fight with Doryani, ensure your character is at least level 45 and has equipment suitable for withstanding Doryani's attacks. If you're not at this level, consider replacing the gear you used before with higher resistance and better defensive equipment, or use Regal Orbs to upgrade your items' rarity and properties.

  

In addition, Doryani's main sources of damage are fire and chaos. It's crucial to have gear that provides resistance to these elements, especially since his powerful attacks can deal massive damage. How to beat Doryani

Phase 1: Royal Thaumaturge Doryani

In this phase, Doryani will attack you with various skills. While his movement speed is slow, the variety and strength of his attacks are considerable. To minimize the risk of being hit, stay behind him and avoid positioning yourself in front of him, especially during his large AoE abilities. Below are his common attacks and counter strategies:

 

Lightning Burst: Doryani shoots lightning from his hands, which tracks you and deals damage. This attack isn't too dangerous if your build can absorb some of the damage, and you can even counterattack during it.

  

Fire Blast: Doryani shoots a fire projectile at you. The damage isn't huge, but if you have strong fire resistance, you can use this opportunity to counterattack.

 

Charged Chaos Burst: After charging up, Doryani releases a powerful chaos damage burst. When you see him charging, quickly move to the left or right to avoid this deadly attack.

 

Laser Altar: When Doryani's health drops to 25%, a rotating altar in the center of the arena will release a laser that deals significant chaos damage. You need to carefully find the gaps between the lasers and dodge through them.

 

Overhead Lightning: Doryani charges up and releases rotating lightning from above. You should retreat and use ranged skills to attack during this phase.

 

Phase 2: Doryani's Triumph

Fire Explosion: Doryani summons a huge fire ring that causes area-of-effect fire damage. Staying behind Doryani is again the best way to avoid this attack.

 

Freeze Slam: The mechanical form releases a powerful freezing attack, creating a large cold damage cone. The closer you are to Doryani, the less damage you'll take from this ability.

 

Back Laser: The mechanical form releases a rotating laser from its back. You need to quickly turn toward the direction of the laser's rotation to avoid taking damage.

 

Overhead Laser Cannon: Doryani summons a laser cannon from above to attack. Watch the laser's path and avoid stepping into it.

 

Mechanical Explosion: When Doryani's health reaches 50%, the mechanical form will self-destruct, causing massive damage in the area. Quickly run to the edge of the arena to avoid the explosion.

 

Mechanical Spin: The mechanical form spins in mid-air and crashes down, dealing huge area damage. It's best to stand on either the left or right side of the AoE marker to avoid direct hits.
