The Necromancer in Diablo II Resurrected is still a very popular class. In the early stage of exploration, it relies on a group of minions to attract damage, making it have stronger survival ability compared to other classes. In the late game, curses combined with the divine skill "Explosive Bone Spear" can easily and efficiently clear groups. In addition, the operation is relatively simple, and in the late game, there are basically no disadvantages except for equipment dependence.
In addition to the necessary hirelings, the Necromancer's minions usually include Skeleton Warriors, Skeleton Mages, Reanimated Corpses, and Golems. Although there are many types of Golems, in fact, most gameplay is suitable for matching with either "Clay Golem" or "Iron Golem". The less popular "Blood Golem" and "Fire Golem" are not recommended unless personal preference or some creative gameplay is involved. Here we will briefly introduce the characteristics and applicable gameplay of "Clay Golem" and "Iron Golem".
(1) Characteristics
"Clay Golem" has the highest health of the four Golems at the same level and passive bonuses. In the early stage, with some basic equipment, it can easily reach tens of thousands of health. It needs to be summoned every time you enter the game (every time you start the game). At the same time, when attacked by an enemy, it will slow down the enemy. For example, when fighting "Baal", using it together with the "Decrepify Curse" slowdown can significantly reduce "Baal's" attack speed.
"Iron Golem" can inherit most of the attributes of equipped items. It is often chosen to summon with enchanted items as the base material, such as the rune word "Insight" and "Pride". Unlike "Clay Golem", it does not need to be re-summoned every time you enter the game. However, if the character dies (restarts) or the "Iron Golem" dies, the existing "Iron Golem" will be lost. Players with poor operation ability or not very good equipment are prone to accidents. If you have the opportunity, accumulate more rune words "Insight", and for other high-cost summoning materials (such as "Pride"), it is recommended to choose them only when you have certain abilities and are confident in your own operations.
(2) Suitable gameplay
The high health and passive slowdown attribute of "Clay Golem" make it suitable as a meat shield in BOSS battles, which is very good in early or mid-late game main BOSS clearing.
Selecting enchanted base materials to summon "Iron Golem" can inherit the aura from equipped items. Different auras can bring different auxiliary effects to the character and team. For example, the "Pride" Iron Golem can provide the "Concentration Aura" of the five-strand Necromancer, which can increase the physical attack power of team members. Players who mainly clear groups or pursue extreme five-ring gameplay can choose "Iron Golem", but it is recommended to choose a lower-cost "Insight" before having certain strength. If there is no certain operation and survival ability, the consumption will be very large.
