Diablo 4 Lunar Awakening Event 2025–Rewards, Buffs, and More

The Lunar Awakening event has returned to Diablo 4, bringing festive Lunar New Year celebrations to Sanctuary! Running from February 4 at 10 a.m. PST to February 18 at 10 a.m. PST, this limited-time event is packed with exciting rewards, buffs, and powerful shrines to enhance your gameplay experience.

 

 

What to Expect in the Lunar Awakening Event

During the event, all Shrines in Sanctuary transform into Lunar Shrines, featuring a new snake-themed design and enhanced effects. Activating a Lunar Shrine grants 100% bonus XP for 2 minutes and triggers powerful shrine effects. Additionally, activating these shrines releases Miserly Spirits, dropping valuable loot and Ancestral Favor Reputation to unlock event rewards.

 

There are 10 Ancestral Favor Reputation levels, each offering unique rewards, including d4 gold, crafting materials, and Lunar-themed cosmetics. Players who reach the highest tier will unlock the new Trag'Oul's Consort Mount. Once all Reputation Levels are completed, players can continue earning additional Unceasing Gifts from the Ancestors caches and purchase event cosmetics at Ked Bardu.

 

Lunar Shrine Effects

Each Lunar Shrine grants its usual benefits alongside these new, powerful effects:

 

Artillery Shrine–Summons a Holy Bomb.

Blast Wave Shrine – Each explosion creates a chain reaction.

Channeling Shrine – Increased attack speed with cooldown resets.

Conduit Shrine – Frequent, powerful lightning strikes.

Greed Shrine – Chance to summon a Treasure Goblin.

Lethal Shrine – Instantly execute enemies, terrifying nearby monsters.

Protection Shrine – Reflects incoming damage.

 

These shrines can be found throughout dungeons and open-world areas, offering players an excellent opportunity to farm XP and loot.

 

Lunar Awakening Rewards

This year's event introduces new and returning cosmetics, as well as Resplendent Sparks, one of the rarest crafting materials in Diablo 4. Here's a breakdown of the reward tiers:

Tier II – The Lunar Scepter (Cosmetic Wand) & Cache

Tier III – Cache of Items & Crafting Materials

Tier IV – The Dragon's Courage (Cosmetic 2-Handed Axe) & Rare Cache

Tier V – Rare Cache of Items & Temper Manuals

Tier VI – The Moonshot Bow (Cosmetic Bow) & Rare Cache

Tier VII – Legendary Cache with Legendary Items & Temper Manuals

Tier VIII – The Dragon's Tapestry (Tattoo) & Legendary Cache

Tier IX – The Moon's Bounty (Cosmetic Mount Trophy) & Legendary Cache

Tier X – Trag'oul's Consort Mount & Mythic Legendary Cache containing a Resplendent Spark

Diablo 4 Patch 2.1.1 Updates

Alongside the event, Patch 2.1.1 introduces several quality-of-life improvements and fixes, including:

 

Increased frequency of Forgotten Altars spawning.

More Raven of the Tree spawns in Headhunt areas.

Two new Whisper Bounties.

Improved UI for tracking Headhunt progress.

New button in Armory to remove gear quickly.

Adjusted Armory locations in various cities.
