D2R: What You Need to Know About Ladder Season 10

1. Ladder Season 10 Global Launch Timing

North America	March 7, 5 p.m. PST	Duration: Approximately 15 weeks
Europe	March 8, 2 a.m. CET
Asia	March 8, 10 a.m. KST

 

2. Modes

Four modes will be included in season 10:

Version	Description
Pre-Expansion Ladder	The standard version of Ladder play that encompasses only the original four acts.
Pre-Expansion Hardcore Ladder	The hardcore (only one life) version of Ladder play that encompasses only the original four acts.
Ladder	The standard version of Ladder play that encompasses five acts, as it includes the “Lord of Destruction” expansion content.
Hardcore Ladder	The hardcore (only one life) version of Ladder play that encompasses five acts, as it includes the “Lord of Destruction” expansion content.

 

 

2. Item Retrieval

After Ladder Season 9 ends, your Ladder characters will become non-Ladder. Items in your Shared Stash will move to special "Past" tabs (marked with a check) that only allow item removal. Any remaining Season 8 items in these tabs will be permanently deleted.

During Ladder Season 10, you can claim your Season 9 items from these tabs at any time.

Note: When Season 10 ends, these tabs will be replaced with new Season 9 items. Make sure to collect all wanted items before Season 10 ends, or they’ll be lost forever.

 

3. How to Prepare for D2R Season 10?

 

1 - Choose Your Character and Build

Select a Class & BD: Decide the character class you want to play at D2R ladder season 10, then decide how to build your character. Here are some key words of class BD for you to make your decision:

Hammerdin	Blizzard Sorceress	Trapsin
Summoner Necromancer	Lightning Fury Javazon	Wind Druid
Meteorb Sorceress	Smiter Paladin	Bone Necromancer

2 - Get to know farming

If you want to take part in the Ladder challenge, you need to be familiar with the best farming way in Season 10 (including how to avoid the monsters when you’re leveling), as well as the boss drops, in order to reach level 99 faster. Here we take Mephisto (farming) as an example to illustrate the things you need to know in advance:

Location: Mephisto is the end boss of Act Three, and can be found at the top left of the Durance of Hate Level 3.

The way to Mephisto: Use the Durance of Hate Level 2 Waypoint and run clockwise, following the wall. Be careful of the Stygian Dolls at Durance of Hate Level 2.

Drop：Harlequin Crest, Arachnid Mesh, The Stone of Jordan.

How to beat Mephisto: get enough cold resistance and lightning resistance, try to trap him behind some of the landscape (e.g. the moat). You can google for details.

Other Durance of Hate Level 3 Loot: The Council Members at the entrance, the single Chest at the very top left of the map, the two Racks on either side of Mephisto.
