Distilled Emotions are items obtained during Delirium encounters in the endgame. Staying in the fog increases the rewards, including Distilled Emotions, which drop when the fog dissipates.

 

These items are essential for customizing your build in two key ways:

1. Anointing Amulets with Passive Skills  

2. Enhancing Waystones with Delirium Modifiers

 

How to Use Distilled Emotions

1. Anointing Amulets with Passive Skills

Distilled Emotions can grant powerful Notable passive skills to Amulets, allowing you to access key bonuses from the passive skill tree without spending points on unwanted nodes.

 

Here are the steps of how to do it.

The first step is choosing a Passive Skill. Open the passive skill tree, hover over your desired skill, and press ALT to see the Distilled Emotions required. For example, the Tainted Strike passive skill requires Ire, Despair, Greed in that order. 

 

Then, collect the required Distilled Emotions and the Amulet you wish to enhance. Right-click a Distilled Emotion to open the anointing window. Place the Emotions in the correct order and insert the Amulet. The description of the skill will appear—click "Instill" to complete the process.

 

Tip: Save Distilled Emotions for an Amulet suited to your endgame build, as they are valuable and rare.

 

2. Enhancing Waystones with Delirium Modifiers

Distilled Emotions can also modify Waystones, increasing map difficulty while amplifying rewards. Each Distilled Emotion adds a percentage of Delirium fog, which determines the density and power of enemies.

 

Steps to Enhance a Waystone:

1. Open the instilling window by right-clicking a Distilled Emotion.  

2. Place up to three Emotions into the slots. The more of the same Emotion you use, the stronger the modifier.  

3. Insert a Waystone to apply the effects.  

 

Each Distilled Emotion provides unique modifiers. For example:

- Distilled Despair: +20% Delirious, 30% increased Simulacrum Splinter stack size.  

- Distilled Fear: +22% Delirious, rare monsters have a 25% chance to gain an additional modifier.  

- Distilled Isolation: +50% Delirious for an extreme challenge.  

 

Use this feature only if you're confident in your ability to handle the increased difficulty. These enhanced Waystones can significantly boost rewards, including Simulacrum Splinters and rare POE2 items.

 

Where to Find Distilled Emotions

There are two main ways to obtain Distilled Emotions:

1. Delirium Map Nodes: Look for maps with a pure white plus icon. Activate the Delirium mirror and stay within the fog to maximize monster kills. The number of Distilled Emotions you earn depends on your kill count and Item Rarity stat.

2. Currency Exchange: Trade Exalted Orbs with Alva in the endgame to purchase specific Distilled Emotions. This method is more efficient than farming if you have currency to spare.

- Amulet Anointing:  

  - Tainted Strike: Ire, Despair, Greed (Critical hit bonuses).
