    How to get Ancestral Rare gear in Diablo 4 (Season 13)

    To farm Ancestral Rare gear yourself, you must first unlock Torment difficulties (Torment I – XII).

    In Season 13, Ancestral items drop with item power up to 900. The highest drop rates come from:

    • War Plans – the main endgame loop combining Helltides, Whispers, and Nightmare Dungeons
    • High-tier Nightmare Dungeons (Torment VII+)
    • Kurast Undercity with Ancestral tributes
    • World Bosses
    • Helltide Commander chests

    However, the affix pool remains very large. Finding an Ancestral Rare with 2 or 3 specific affixes you need can take hundreds of hours of farming.

    How to transmute Ancestral Rare gear to Uniques in Diablo 4 Season 13

    One of the most powerful features of Season 13 is the Horadric Cube – a crafting system that lets you transform gear in new ways.

    To transmute an Ancestral Rare into a Unique item, follow these steps:

    Step 1: Get an Ancestral Rare base

    Use an Ancestral Rare from our stock or one you've farmed. Higher item power = better potential outcomes.

    Step 2: Visit the Horadric Cube

    Go to the Horadric Cube station in any major hub (Kyovashad, Cerrigar, Kurast Bazaar). This replaces the old Alchemist transmutation from earlier seasons.

    Step 3: Add materials

    Place your Ancestral Rare into the Cube along with the required crafting materials (salvaged from other Ancestral items).

    Step 4: Craft

    The Cube will create a random Unique item from your Ancestral Rare base. The Unique's affix rolls are not guaranteed to be perfect, but you can re-roll them using other Cube recipes.

    Important: In Season 13, the Cube generates a new Unique from the base. You are not "feeding" a Rare into an existing Unique – it's a full transmutation.

    Bonus: Spare Uniques can be turned into Ancestral Runes (consumables that transfer special effects to other gear).

     

    How to use Ancestral Rare gear in Season 13 crafting

    Ancestral Rares are versatile crafting inputs in Season 13. Depending on your goal, here are three ways to use them:
